PAUA Architects Ltd (as Antanas Procuta Architects) was awarded the commission in the urban design competition for a sustainable neighbourhood, comissioned by Taupo District Council.

The competition attracted design submission from New Zealand, Australia and Europe.

The competition sought ideas to explore on how subdivisions for suburban housing could be envisaged in a way that encourages the development of medium - density neighbourhood-centred communities and low-energy architecture based on the character of place and neighbourliness.
